Top Three Selling Tips

Top Three Selling Tips:
If you want to be a successful salesman than you need these three tips.
Top Three Tips for Salesmen:
There are two categories of salesmen
1. Unlucky Salesmen - These salesmen make 40 cold calls in a day and get 5 productive call and spend 5 hours of the day in cold calling.
2 Lucky Salesmen - Lucky salesmen make 10 call and get 5 productive calls and spend 3 hours of the day in cold calling.
Which category do you belong to?
Are the salesmen of second category are really lucky?
No, They are not lucky. They are only better prepared.
1. Preparation - In sales always remember this quote - “The better you prepare, the luckier you get.” - Lalit Bhojwani
Before going in to the market or starting cold calling take 15 minutes to prepare because these 15 minutes will save your two hours. You have to do two kind of preparations and both are very important for you -
A. Prepare about your product - People buy product from people who have good knowledge about the product or service that they are selling. Try to get as much as knowledge about your products or services and competitors products or services.
B. Prepare about your prospect - If you have good knowledge about your prospect than you will feel confident and you will close the sale easily.
If you are half prepared than your chances of closing sale are half. If you are a salesman who works in the field than your folder and POP material should be placed in your bag properly.
2. Be Honest - Try to be honest because it will create a different image and reliable image in your market. Honestly will pay you in long term and you will also get support of your customers. An honest salesman never do one time sale but they get repeat sale from the same customers. This is very necessary tip for every salesman because an honest salesman represents an honest image of his or her organization.
3. Talk less and Listen more - There is a wrong notion in the mind of people and even in the mind of salesmen that a talkative salesman is a better salesman. I have seen many customers who complain that salesmen do not listen their needs, problems and issues. If you are trying to sale something than you have to listen carefully because only than you will be able to understand what exactly the customer is saying and what exactly the customers wants. Listening not only helps you close the sale but you will get some great tips for improving your product, your service and your presentation. Talking less does not mean you have to be dumb. You can be enthusiastic and at the same time less talkative.
What are the other good tips?

Difference Between Vision and Goals

Difference Between Vision and Goals:
Generally people get confused between goals and vision but both are very different. Here are some important differences –
1. In order to achieve your vision you have to set goals. It means vision is the inspiration that inspires you to set your goals. For example if your vision is to change the world than you have to set the goals to achieve your vision.
If you have not set your goals yet than please read the simplest process of goal setting. And if you have not set your vision or you are confused about setting your vision than answer this question – why do you want to achieve your goals? The answer of this question will let you know your vision.
2. Goals are specific but vision is foresight and vision is a big picture that how you or your organization will look like.
3 Goals are measurable but it is very difficult to measure vision because vision is related with dreams and long term view. It means your goals can be short term and long term goals but vision only focuses on long term view.
4. Goals have specific deadline but vision does not have any specific deadline.
5. Usually goals are achievable or should be achievable. But vision should be complex. Here is a great quote about vision –
“If you can reach your vision with your current resources, you need a bigger vision!” – Dan Rockwell
6. Goals are realistic and should be realistic but vision should be futuristic.
7. Goals are mostly tangible and tangible goals can be traced but vison is intangible and you can not trace the intangible vision.

Standards for Social Media Behavior

As you know the medium of Social Media is growing at an unexpected rapid pace. Hence being a Social Media King it is necessary for me to set standards for the world on how to act and how to behave in Social Media. I have set two tests for you-
1. Mama Test - Whatever you are doing at social networking sites, whether you are posting comments or making fake profiles - ask yourself a question before posting updates or doing anything on social media. If my Mama were to see doing this, would she proud of me or would she hang her head in shame? If you passed this test then feel free to act on social media.

If the above test does not work I have another test for you that is called Baba Test.

2. Baba Test -  Whatever you are doing at social networking sites, whether you are posting comments or making fake profiles - ask yourself a question before posting updates or doing anything on social media. If my children were to see me doing what I am doing on Social Media, would I want to see it, or would I be embarrassed? If you passed Baba Test then feel free to post or act on Social Media.

Steve Jobs

A well written book that describes the many faces of Steve Jobs. Based on more than forty interviews with Jobs conducted over two years and interviews with family members, friends, adversaries, competitors, and colleagues—Walter Isaacson has written a great story of a creative entrepreneur. Isaacson last interviewed Jobs just weeks before his death - Jobs indicated at that time that he knew he was going to die soon. As Isaacson makes clear, Jobs  was a businessman of astonishing flair and focus, a marketing genius, and had an intuitive sense of what the customer would want. Having been very aware of the rise and fall of Apple and Steve Jobs, this book is a very interesting read. The book also reveals Steve's history with his real sister, and his abandoned daughter. This is a great book to read because this is very insightful on the steve jobs story and how apple was founded, how Steve Jobs got the inspiration and motivation. Overall it is a well written book and in this book the personal stuff is the most informative.

Goal Setting Steps for New Year

As you know from my previous post "Goal Setting for New Year" that written goals are the real goals otherwise you have only wishes. Now you should make your goals visible, so that you can see them on a daily basis. If you cannot see your goals then how will you achieve them?  You should write your goals on your Laptop or on cards or in a place where you can see these goals on a daily basis. If you can see your goals on a daily basis then you can achieve them. You cannot shoot the arrow with closed eyes. Here I would like to share an ancient story with you.

Once in the Mahabharata, Guru Dronacharya took the test of his disciples.
He called all his disciples and showed them a target. The target was a 'fake fish-eye' that was hanging on the tree.  They all had to shoot the target. Guru Dronacharya called his dispels one by one and asked a question that what they were seeing, some said they were seeing fish and some said they were seeing fish and tree. But only Arjuna answered that he was seeing only eye of the fish and nothing else. And only Arjuna was able to hit the target. That is the power of focus and visible targets.

The second biggest advantage of visible goals is that you can adjust the goals according to changing environment. Make your goals attractive and beautiful so that you cannot be bored by seeing them daily. If you want to make beautiful goals try to write your goals in white fonts and with blue background.
Hence your goals must be --
(1) Written goals
(2) Visible on a daily basis (Attractive and beautiful)

If you follow the above step then you will certainly be able to achieve your targets.

Quote-- " I cannot assure you that you will be able to achieve your targets if you write them but I can assure you that you will not achieve your targets if you don`t write them." Lalit Bhojwani

In my next post, I will talk about further steps of goal setting process till then complete above both the steps. Happy Blogging

Difference Between Cost and Expense

What is the difference between cost and expense? Certainly it is a difficult and confusing question - Confusing because both the terms cost and expense are used interchangeably and difficult because no body has explained it in simple words. But now confusion is over because I will explain both these terms in simple words with a simple example ---
Please see the above ferrari and let`s suppose that LALIT Bhojwani had bought a Ferrari car on 16, January 2010 therefore ₹ 2,50,00000 was the cost for Lalit Bhojwani that was going to expire. And a year later on 16, January 2011, the Ferrari car was sold by Lalit BHojwani in ₹ 1,50,00000. It means the ferrari car depreciated ₹ 1,00,00000 and this ₹ 1,00,00000 was the expired cost for Lalit Bhojwani and that ₹ 1.00.00000 was expense for Lalit Bhojwani.
In property business if you purchase only land than that is the cost that will not expire because land does not depreciate. If your company purchases land for some uses than it is an asset for the company and will never become expense because land does not depreciate.
Always remember Cost of Goods Sold = Expenses. (Though both are used interchangeably)

In short and simple words -----
COST = The resources we sacrificed and is going to expire
Expense = The sacrificed resources that has been expired.

A cost can be either an asset, or an expense or both. In above example ₹ 2,50,00000 was both for Lalit Bhojwani an asset and an expense. But expense can only be expired cost not an asset. In above example in above ₹ 1,00,00000 was the expired cost for Lalit Bhojwani.
In your factory electricity bill is cost but goods of factory sold this cost of electricity becomes expense.

Great Definitions of Leadership

There are many diverse definitions of leadership.

“Leadership is inspiration and if you are not inspiring you are not a leader.” Lalit Bhojwani. Because one of the best definition I have found in history is related with inspiration. According to Napoleon Bonaparte- “A leader is a dealer in hope." A true leader always inspires, a true leader always motivates and a true leader always gives hopes. That`s why a leader is certainly a dealer in hope.
John Quincy Adams has also given the utmost importance to inspiration and he defined-
“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.” John Quincy Adams

Another one great definition is given by John Maxwell, “Leadership is influence- nothing more, nothing less.” Definitely if you are not inspiring you are not influential and without inspiration no leader can influence truly.
Warren Bennis has defined leadership in these words, “Leadership is a function of knowing yourself, having a vision that is well communicated, building trust among colleagues, and taking effective action to realize your own leadership potential.”
Definitely if you do not know yourself how can you inspire others and how can you build trust among colleagues?

When you are talking about leadership how can you forget Peter Drucker. Very inspiring definition was given by Peter Drucker.
"Management is doing things right; leadership is doing the right things.
Peter Drucker
Last but not least "Innovation distinguishes between a leader and a follower." Steve Jobs. When leaders inspires others they create a great culture of innovations and inspiration motivates your employees to take risk and innovate. hostgator coupons

How are Geniuses made?

Geniuses are made from small events not from big events.
When Mahatma Gandhi was pushed out by train in South Africa, this event was a big event for Gandhi. This incident had taken place with many people before Gandhi and it was a little event for them.
When Newton saw an apple falling down from the tree, he took it seriously. Even before a million people saw the falling apple, they considered it a minor incident.

Can you imagine how many people saw the steam coming out before James Watt ? I'll tell you, millions of people, but they did not invent the steam engine because they did not take it seriously.

When Pasteur was looking through a microscope at the germs, his professor made a fun of him and told him it's useless. But Pasteur was continuously doing the research on those little germs. Finally he gave pasteurization theory.
Millions have such example, where the genius people, focusing on small events were able to make new breakthroughs. Genius is always made from small events not from big events.

What is Love?

Love is not madness. Between love and madness, lies xenophobia. Xenophobia is defined as "an unreasonable fear of foreigners or strangers or of that which is foreign or strange". The Dictionary of Psychology defines it as "a fear of strangers". Xenophobia means fear and hatred of strangers or foreigners or of anything that is strange or foreign. Always youth and people who suffer from xenophobia make excuse of love.

Some shy guys instead of fighting with the fear of strangers they try to give lot of excuses - like love, responsibility and cultural issues. The issue is not avoiding responsibilities in fact most of times issue is Xenophobia.

On the other hand there are many benefits if you can fight with Xenophobia

Relation between honesty and happiness

I am sure honesty is still the best policy. Do you know why? Because happiness and honesty both are related, you can not enjoy happiness honestly if you are not honest. Honest happiness comes to honest people. The degree of happiness depends on the degree of honesty. The more you practice honesty you will get more honest happiness instead of fake laughing. Because people in today`s world are not interested in to true happiness rather they are interested in showing others that they are happy. Don`t try to show that you are happy rather than try to feel happiness and try to enjoy happiness.
This is one of best quote about happiness--

A happy person is not a person in a certain set of circumstances, but rather a person with a certain set of attitudes. -Hugh Downs
If you are still confused about honest happiness than I would give you an example. Have you ever seen a happy kid? If not, please see the above image that is true and honest happiness. Du you why this kid is feeling true and honest happiness? Simple because he is an honest and even he does not know the meaning of honesty.

Formula 1 Race

Why do we call formula 1 race? Why don`t we call it formula 2, formula 3, 4, 5 or formula 6 race? Simple, because number 1 belongs to real brave men and for real winner. 30th October, 2011 was big day for India in Delhi because first time final of this great sport took place in Buddha International Circuit in New Delhi which is the second fastest F1 track in the world. Bollywood stars like Sharukh Khan and Cricket Stars like Sachin Tendular watched and enjoyed this great event.

Ultimately Sebastian Vettel of Red Bull continued his winning. Anyway this sport is for bulls and winners and speed lovers like Sachin Tendulkar, Narain Karhtikeyan hence Vettel of Red Bull had won the championship,  .

The Difference Between Negotiation and Compromise

What is the difference between negotiation and compromise? Which do you think is better in a Business?
Both the question are confusing and do you know why? Because nobody has answered these questions in simple words. Some people say that both the terms are same and some say compromise is the end result of negotiation.
But there is a difference between negotiation and compromise and very obvious difference hence before answering the second question I would answer my first question because answer of the first question will let you toward answer of the second question.

In simple words:-
Negotiation = Win – Win (Objective of any negotiation process is to get win – win results)
Compromise = Win and Lose (In the process of compromise one party has to lose something whether it is small loss for him or big )
Always remember one important thing that negotiation can be done without compromise but compromise cannot be done without negotiation.
After understanding answer of my first question it is obvious that in business negotiation is better than compromise .

Leadership qualities essential for young leaders to learn

What is Leadership?
In simple words leadership is influence. When we hear this definition instantly second question comes in our mind i.e.- Why Leadership is influence? The answer is hidden in the following questions -  Can you think anybody can follow a leader without influence? Can leaders inspire others without influence? Can you read my blog or follow me without influence? Can you lead people without influence? The answer is very simple no. Hence first and foremost essential quality for a leader is learning to influence others.
But we are not concerned about one quality we are concerned about qualities. Now the question arises in our mind is htat What are the major essential qualities for leaders to learn? In fact there are several qualities like:

1.   Passion
2.   Focus
3.   Vision
4.   The ability to delegate
5.   Good Communication

6.   Sincerity
7.   Humility
8.   Empathy
9.   Decision making
10. Crisis - management
11. Honesty
12. Integrity
13. Loyalty
14. Consistency
15. Trustworthiness.
16. Enthusiasm

17. Ability to think deeply
18. Ability to plan strategically
19. Ability to inspire people
20. High emotional intelligence

21. To be a continuous learner
22. Courage
23. Value Others
24. Active listener
25. Perseverance
26. Charisma
27. Character
28. Determination
29  Sense of humor
30. Leading By Example
Although this list is very long but we have talked only about essential qualities. But we are not concerned about all leaders, we are only concerned about young leaders.

Whenever I see young and old leaders together I always miss one important quality and i.e. the foremost important quality. Can you guess which one important quality is missing in young leaders. Why are you not influenced by young leaders? Why are you not inspired by young leaders? Which quality young leaders do not have? Why don`t we take action to follow young leaders?
Although the answer is hidden in above qualities, but I will let you know this quality after some time. Let me talk about other essential qualities that are important for young leaders to learn.
                                                 (1) Focus- If you are not focused you are not passionate and without passion you can`t be a good leader. I have seen the lack of this trait in young leaders and that is a major problem. Without focus you can lead, but only for short span of time, to be a horse of long race you have to be focused. So young leaders are you ready to be focused ?
                                                   (2) Active Listening - Young leaders you have to learn the ability of effective listening. Do you know active listening is also related with focus because if you are not focused you are not listening you are only hearing.

                                                  (3) Ability to Inspire others - The main problem with young leaders is they are unable to effectively inspire other and if they don`t inspire people effectively then how can people take actions to follow them?

                                                 (4) Crisis management - The ultimate test of a leader happens in crisis. We have seen many good leaders doing good things when everything is going fine but when suddenly crisis happens and recession comes then automatically good young leaders lack their all abilities.
Anyway now I will give you the answer of the most important question i.e. Which foremost important quality young leaders are lacking? This is the quality which I am afraid, will
young leaders be able to learn or not ? Because this the quality some time called in-born quality.Great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi and Martin Luther King posses this quality very effectively and i.e. my friends- Charisma
                                             (5) Charisma - I have not seen this quality in young leaders. They are lacking Charisma. Although sometimes this is in-born quality but I believe in this principle - Leaders are not born they are made."Leaders are made, and they are made by effort and hard work". - Vince Lombardi That`s why my dear young leaders you can learn this quality and young leaders have to learn this quality if they want to be great leaders. This is the most important quality to influence others and I believe leaders are learner so you can learn Charisma (5) if you focus (1) on charisma, if you are actively  and effectively listening (2) what I am saying in this article, if you have ability to inspire other (3) and If you are a young leader who can manage in crisis (4).
Do you have Charisma ?
